1970 Kellogg's Baseball Card Backs #07 - 09

#07 - Jimmy Wynn

The Toy Cannon has some interesting hobbies - reading, television and clothes.   He was an all-star in 1967.

Not on the card - he was an all-star two times in the 1970s.  I was surprised that he didn't make a few more all-star teams.  All-Star teams in the 1960s and 1970s had about 26 - 29 players selected per side.  Now the teams have more than 35 players named as all-stars.

#08 - Don Sutton

I was surprised to see that he had a losing record during his first four years with the Dodgers.

IT'S A FACT - "Pistol' Pete Reiser stole home seven times for the Dodgers in 1946.

Not on the card - his career record was 324 - 256.

Also not on the card - Cobb has the record for stealing home eight times in one season.  Reiser still has the NL record even though he only stole 87 career bases.

#09 - Tom Seaver

Tom's hobbies are quite diverse - golf, hunting and bridge.  Does anyone else in the world do all three of those things?

It is mentioned that Tom is his middle name.  He's been an all-star all three years he played and he won the most games of any pitcher in the NL in 1969.

Not on the card - he won the Cy Young Award in 1969 and he won two more later.

IT'S A FACT??? - Ty Cobb stole home 19 times in his career.  The Baseball Almanac lists him with 54 steals of home in his career.  Was this ever corrected on the card?
