Kellogg's Cereal Box Dream #10 - An Amazing Player Just a Bit Too Early for Widespread Cable TV Coverage

Fred Lynn burst onto the baseball scene in 1975 winning the AL Rookie of the Year, a Gold Glove and the AL MVP Award.  Think Mike Trout but add a World Series appearance.

Sure he had his ups and downs during his career, but he managed to hit 306 home runs, he won a batting title, he was a nine-time all-star and he won four Gold Glove Awards.

In 15 post-season games he hit .407 with 13 RBIs.

1976 Cereal Box rating -- 8    comment --   had a great start to his career in 1975.  Still a star                                                                               when this card came out, he had a great season in                                                                               1979.   Check his 1975 and 1979 stats - wow!

2015 Rating                    -- 5    comment --    It was difficult for him to keep the pace that he set                                                                            with his amazing 1975 and 1979 seasons.

  1. I like the Topps '76 Fred Lynn card.....the one that says he won ROY and MVP....it's a decent action shot.

  2. You were also lucky enough to see his famous grand slam. Wait for more about that in a future post.
