Sports Collectors Daily Writes About Kellogg's Cards Again

Another nice article from Sports Collectors Daily.  This time it is 1976 Kellogg's.

This is one of my favorite sets, in part because I was collecting it as a Little League kid.  Over the years I've noticed that this set is likely to have borders that fade to a yellowish tint.  They look great with the white borders, and not so nice when yellowed.

  1. That's pretty cool that you were collecting these as a kid. I like how they went with the red, white, and blue for the 1976 set... just like Hostess.

  2. Good to have you back! Things have been smoothing out a bit for me as well. My family and circle of friends have had a challenging pandemic. I went through 3 job changes and we had two funerals. But everyone is vaccinated now and things are moving back to some semblance of normalcy.

My original goal was to collect a complete basic run of Kellogg's 1970-1983 at PSA 9 or better. I started the effort when PSA was just getting started and I had a couple of shops helping me grade my cards. Now, as I prepare for retirement, I don't know if I'll be able to get the last 121 cards I need with things getting so expensive.

But I did finish 1976 basic set without all the variations. You can see my sets in the registry they all start with DRS. At some point I'm going to scan them all and upload the pictures. I have uncracked cards in everything I need but the chances of grading at 9 and above is slim for a lot of them. When I started it was so much more affordable. Every once in a while I'll win something from eBay.

Recently I've been trying to complete the sets I started as a kid, 1971, 72 & 73 Topps. Also trying to finish the 91-95 Conlon sets. But I still love Kellogg's best.

I've also been working on collecting scans of as many Danish Go Round and Kellogg's boxes to make a set of art cards depicting as many of them as I can.

Now that I have a little more time I need to dig into my boxes and see what I can do to help you with your want list.

Thanks again for a great blog.
