So far I have covered the card backs from 1970, 1976, 1981 - 1983. Why the odd order? No reason really. Just like everything else that I am covering, I don't have a plan.
I like Baseball Almanac's notes on this set -
The Kellogg's baseball card set was released in 1973. The set consisted of 54 baseball cards and each card from the 1973 Kellogg's baseball card set is listed below. Note: Baseball cards which featured a player who did not appear in a regular season game during the most recently completed season, do not link to their major league statistics.
That comment confused me at first. So, Curt Flood appears in the 1970 Kellogg's set and there is a link to his statistics on Baseball Almanac even though he didn't play in 1970. Why? 1969 was the "most recently completed season". Maybe that is helpful in today's card world where some guys get cards and never even play in the majors?
Are there any players on regular (1970 - 1983, not including the ATG set) Kellogg's sets who didn't play in the previous season in the majors?
A look at Kellogg's cereal cards and related items from all sports.
